The Simplest way to Meditate

On a recent Facebook live, I shared the simplest and quickest way to meditate. Meditation, at it’s core, is just a way to return to the present moment, and stay there for an extended period of time. You don’t need to be silent, or completely still, or to shut off your brain. When I get in the frantic mode, I can find it hard to meditate also. So I broke down the easiest way to get back to presence. Here are the simple steps:

The Simplest Way to Meditate

  1. Inhale deeply through your nose to the count of 4, and exhale through your nose to a count of 6.

  2. Get into your body and out of your head by FEELING your physical body. You can scan from head to toe (or toe to head) and notice any tension or sensation, and breathe into it to release it.

  3. Keep the breathing pattern up for a series of 10-15 breaths. If any thoughts come up, let them come through, and don’t chase them.

And that’s it- the simplest way to meditate.
